Black Sea Boutique Tour
We embark on a journey of discovery where oxygen and history intertwine, from the ancient geography of Van to the misty forests of the Black Sea. On this tour, we will explore a legacy of civilization stretching from the Komnenos Kingdom to the Ottoman Empire, monasteries clinging to steep slopes, and the rugged nature of the Black Sea.
We depart from Van early in the morning. Along the way, we will witness the transition from the yellow steppes of the east to the deep green of the Black Sea. We arrive in Trabzon in the evening and check into our hotel. We take a short walk along the coast in the coolness of the Black Sea evening and unwind from the day's fatigue with the region's famous delicacies (optional kuymak and anchovy dishes).
After breakfast, we head to Sümela Monastery, built like an eagle's nest on steep cliffs. We explore the story and architectural genius of this magnificent 1600-year-old structure. In the afternoon, we return to Trabzon city center and visit the Trabzon Hagia Sophia Mosque, one of the finest examples of Byzantine architecture, and the Atatürk Pavilion, where Atatürk stayed during his visits to Trabzon. At the end of the day, we will watch the sunset over Trabzon while sipping our tea in Boztepe.
Today our route takes us to the very heart of nature. Our first stop is Uzungöl, a natural wonder hidden among the mountains. After spending some pleasant time by the lake, we head towards Rize and ascend to Ayder Plateau, one of the most famous plateaus in the region. In this atmosphere above the clouds, we observe local life and go on nature walks. In the evening, we return to our hotel in Trabzon.
After breakfast, we have free time to shop for local products (tea, hazelnuts, etc.). In the afternoon, we begin our return journey to Van with the beautiful memories we have collected.
