Black Sea Tour

Arrival at Trabzon Airport in the morning and meeting with our guide.

Trabzon, the pearl of the Black Sea, has been one of the important port cities of the Silk Road throughout history. It bears traces of Roman, Byzantine, Komnenos Kingdom and Ottoman periods.

Our first stop: Sümela Monastery. This monastery, thought to have been founded in the 4th century, is built on steep cliffs. An important religious center during the Byzantine period, the structure is fascinating with its frescoes and location.

Then return to Trabzon city center:

Hagia Sophia Mosque. Built as a church in the 13th century during the Komnenos Kingdom period. Its stone reliefs and frescoes are remarkable. Finally: Atatürk Mansion. Built in the 1890s, this mansion is where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk stayed during his visits to Trabzon.

Accommodation in Trabzon.

After breakfast, our destination is Uzungöl. This lake, formed by a landslide, is a symbol of the Black Sea with its postcard-perfect scenery surrounded by spruce forests. We will take a walk around the lake, enjoy free time, and have photo breaks.

Afterwards, we will visit a tea factory in the region to learn about the tea production process. We will be informed about the place and history of tea in the Black Sea economy.

Return to Trabzon in the evening and free time.

We will depart in the morning and head towards Rize. Fırtına Valley offers views of arched bridges from the Ottoman period and the rushing river.

Zipline or rafting (extra) is available for those who wish.

Next, Ayder Plateau, located at an altitude of 1350 meters, is famous for its healing hot springs and wooden plateau houses. Guided tour of plateau culture and the transhumant (nomadic transhumance) tradition.

Accommodation in Ayder or the Rize region.

After breakfast: Visit to a Sürmene knife workshop, famous for its handcrafted items.

Free time for shopping.

End of program: Transfer to Trabzon Airport and return flight.
