Cappadocia by plane
A Fairytale Encounter of History and Nature
Millions of years ago, giant volcanoes erupted in the heart of Central Anatolia…
Lava flowing from Mount Erciyes and Mount Hasan, shaped by wind and rain, formed the unique landscape we call "Fairy Chimneys" today.
Cappadocia is not only a natural wonder; it is also a treasure trove of history where civilizations are hidden.
Arrival at Nevşehir Airport in the morning. Our first stop is the Göreme Open Air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The churches, carved into the rocks in the 10th and 11th centuries, are adorned with frescoes depicting scenes from the Bible. The first Christian communities fleeing Roman persecution secretly practiced their worship in these rock monasteries.
Next, Paşabağ, known as the Valley of the Monks. Here we see the multi-headed fairy chimneys where monks retreated for solitude.
At sunset, an unforgettable view in the valleys bathed in red hues…
Accommodation in a cave-themed stone hotel.
The most striking fact of Cappadocia: This region is a network of cities not only above ground but also underground.
Derinkuyu Underground City is an engineering marvel with 8 floors, capable of housing thousands of people for months, complete with defensive gates, food storage areas, and ventilation systems.
These cities were actively used, especially during the Byzantine period, to protect against Arab raids.
Afterwards, the Ihlara Valley, where nature and history meet.
While walking along the Melendiz River, we discover churches carved into the rocks.
Free time in the evening or enjoy a hot air balloon ride.
Cappadocia has been home to many civilizations, from the Hittites to the Persians, from the Romans to the Seljuks.
In and around Ürgüp, stone mansions, wine cellars, and old Greek houses bear the traces of this cultural richness.
Panoramic stop: Uçhisar Castle, the highest point in the region and a strategic observation point.
Transfer to Nevşehir Airport and return at the end of the program.
