Lake Van Basin Tour by Plane

After arriving at Van Ferit Melen Airport in the morning, we meet our guests with our private vehicle, have the famous Van breakfast, and head to the hotel. After a short rest, we begin to explore Van.

Our first stop is Van Castle, with its magnificent view overlooking the city. This castle, dating from the Urartian period to the present day, is one of the most impressive points for understanding the history of Van. Here, we take plenty of photo breaks while watching Lake Van, the old settlements, and the sunset.

Following the castle visit, we see the ruins of the Old Van City. This area was the center of Van's social and commercial life in the past. With our guide, we receive information about the mosque, the city walls, and the ruins of old buildings.

Then we visit the Van Cat House. Here, we have the opportunity to see the world-famous Van cats up close, learn about their characteristics, and take photographs. It's an unforgettable experience, especially for guests with children.

We give you free time later in the day. You can shop for silver jewelry and local products.

In the evening, we take a break for lunch at a restaurant where you can taste the regional flavors of Van cuisine.

Return to the hotel and overnight stay in Van.

After breakfast at the hotel, we set off towards Gevaş district along the shores of Lake Van, which has become a symbol of Van. A pleasant journey awaits us accompanied by the deep blue view of the lake.

In Gevaş, we take a boat to Akdamar Island. The island enchants visitors with its natural beauty and historical texture. The Akdamar Church on the island dates back to the 10th century and is known worldwide for its stone reliefs. We tour the church with a guide's explanation, and then we give you free time on the island.

At lunchtime (extra), we take a break for lunch at a restaurant with a view of Lake Van and the island.

We begin our exploration of the unique nature and rich history of Eastern Anatolia starting from Van. After a comfortable journey, we arrive in Tatvan. Located on the shores of Lake Van, Tatvan is one of the region's important centers with its natural beauty and strategic location.

Our tour continues to Lake Nemrut. One of the world's largest crater lakes, Nemrut captivates visitors with its volcanic structure, hot and cold lakes, and breathtaking scenery. We enjoy this unique atmosphere with a nature walk, photo stops, and free time.

Our final stop is Ahlat. In Ahlat, known as the "open-air museum of Anatolia," we visit the Ahlat Seljuk Cemetery from the Seljuk period. With its historical tombstones and domes, the region houses some of the most important examples of Turkish-Islamic art. After our tour, which takes place with views of Lake Van, we return to our hotel.

After breakfast, we begin our tour of Bitlis, a city distinguished by its historical texture and stone architecture. Having hosted different civilizations for centuries, Bitlis is a living open-air museum with its narrow streets, bridges, and historical structures.

First, we get a panoramic view of Bitlis Castle, which stands out with its commanding position overlooking the city, and learn about the historical defense structures of the region. Then, we visit the Grand Mosque, dating from the Seljuk and Ottoman periods, and the historical stone bridges.

Following our Bitlis tour, we set off towards Muş, which boasts one of the fertile plains of Eastern Anatolia. During the journey, we enjoy a pleasant transfer accompanied by the natural landscapes of the region.
