Sanliurfa - Gobeklitepe - Mardin Tour by Plane

Arrival at Şanlıurfa Airport in the morning and meeting with our guide.

Our first stop: The discovery that changed human history:

• Göbeklitepe

This temple complex, dating back to 9600 BC, is the oldest known monumental place of worship. Its construction before the agricultural society has fundamentally changed our understanding of history. We examine the T-shaped megaliths and symbols with the guidance of our guide.

Then, return to the city center:

• Balıklıgöl

A sacred area associated with the legend of Prophet Abraham.

• Historical bazaars and workshops selling isot (a type of chili pepper), tomato paste, and copper.

After breakfast, our destination is Harran, famous for its conical-domed houses.

We will visit the ruins of Harran University, considered one of the world's first universities, and the historical city walls. The local way of life and culture will be explained within the conical mud-brick houses.

Then, the stone capital of Mesopotamia:

Mardin

In this city, captivating with its stone architecture and multicultural structure:

• Kasimiye Madrasa

• Zinciriye Madrasa

• Old Mardin streets and Mesopotamian views

As our guide explains traces from the Artuklu, Akkoyunlu, and Ottoman periods, you will feel as if you are walking through an open-air museum.

After breakfast, our route:

Dara Ancient City

In this ancient city, established as a Roman-Sasanian border garrison, we will see rock tombs and water cisterns.

Then, the heart of Syriac culture:

Midyat

• Filigree workshops

• Stone mansions

• Mor Gabriel Monastery (One of the oldest Syriac Orthodox monasteries in the world)

At the end of the program, transfer to Mardin Airport and return flight.
